The screen says zero.Did you do something wrong, or has nothing happened yet?
For the first few months, that is mostly what analytics gives you. What accumulates is not information โ€” it is the time you spend looking.
๐Ÿ’ก Zero does not mean nothing is working. It means nothing has happened often enough to count yet.

"Down 43%" and "a gap of 6" are the same sentence

4 / 9
๐Ÿ“‰
As a rate: โˆ’42.9%. Reads like a collapse
๐Ÿ”ข
As counts: six fewer. Over 28 days, 0.21 a day
โš ๏ธ
Small denominators swing hard: 2โ†’3 is +50%; 1โ†’0 is โˆ’100%
๐Ÿ’ก Multiply a small number by a percentage and the number gets bigger. Nothing else does.
5

A steady rate still prints 7 through 13

5 / 9
Suppose your true rate holds at10 per 28 days, forever.
You still measure 8 or fewer about 33% of the time, and 14 or more about 14% of the time. Roughly 70% of periods land between 8 and 14. Our "14 โ†’ 8" sits inside that.
โš ๏ธ This assumes events arrive independently. Real traffic clusters by weekday and posting time, so swings run wider, not narrower.
6

Explain the noise and you keep the conviction

6 / 9
๐Ÿงช
You change your writing in a month that happened to land at 8
๐ŸŽ‰
You call it a win in a month that happened to land at 12
๐ŸŒ€
Nothing was tested, but the conviction steers the next decision
โœ… Wait for three periods leaning the same way. A single period is something to record, not explain.
7

Sometimes it was withheld, not dropped

7 / 9
Data may be withheld whenthe number of users or events in a given period is small.
That is GA4's data threshold. At low volume, a fall on screen and a suppressed row look identical. (Source: Google Analytics Help, "Data thresholds")
๐Ÿ’ก Two fixes: read 28 days instead of 7, and stop stacking country ร— device ร— source filters.
8

Choose exactly one metric

8 / 9
๐Ÿ–๏ธ
1: Your own work can move it โ€” writing, paths, posting
๐Ÿ“…
2: It fires at least weekly. Monthly metrics swing too hard to read
๐Ÿšซ
3: You cannot inflate it by going to check on it
๐Ÿ’ก We do not headline signups: the count shrinks until there is no up or down left to read.

One thing to dotoday

1
Pick the weekday you open analytics, and put it in the calendar
2
Read 28 days. Treat period-over-period as a footnote
3
Stack raw counts month by month instead of riding the rate
4
Keep one metric. Ignore the rest
